Production Supervisor – Gravure Operation

Position Title: Production Supervisor – Gravure Operation

Department: Gravure Production 

Reports To: Gravure Production Manager 

Location: Dadra-Nager Haveli

Position Overview

The Gravure Process Supervisor oversees gravure printing operations to ensure high-quality production, accurate shade matching, efficient machine performance, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Process Control

  • Execute and monitor gravure printing operations as per production plans.
  • Set up machines (cylinders, inks, tension, registration).
  • Maintain print consistency, shade accuracy, and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot printing, mechanical, and colour-related issues.


Quality Assurance & Shade Matching

  • Ensure printed output meets customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform shade matching using visual and instrument-based methods.
  • Identify defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with QC and ink room for ink corrections and documentation.


Team Supervision

  • Lead and guide operators and helpers.
  • Train staff on machine operation, shade matching, safety, and quality norms.
  • Ensure smooth shift handovers and team productivity.


Material & Resource Management

  • Ensure availability of inks, solvents, cylinders, and substrates.
  • Monitor ink viscosity, solvent ratios, and drying parameters.
  • Reduce wastage and maintain efficient material usage.


Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce safety protocols in handling inks, solvents, and machinery.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace, environmental, and quality standards.


Qualifications

  • Diploma/Bachelor’s in Printing Technology or related field.
  • 3–7 years’ experience in gravure printing; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of gravure machines, inks, substrates, and shade matching.
  • Skilled in colour measurement tools (spectrophotometer/densitometer).

Job Title: Junior Manager – Offset Operations
Department: Offset Printing Operations

Reporting To: Offset Operations Manager / COO

Job Purpose:

The Junior Manager – Offset Operations is responsible for overseeing daily shop floor operations, ensuring smooth production flow, efficient manpower utilization, and adherence to quality and delivery timelines. The role involves coordination with internal teams and external vendors, managing ERP reporting, and supporting new product development activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ink Preparation & Shade Matching – Gravure Production
  • Formulate, mix, and supply inks as per job requirements for paper substrates on gravure machine.
  • Carry out accurate shade matching using spectrophotometer, shade cards, and visual standards.
  • Maintain ink viscosity and properties for optimal print results on paper.
  1. Production Support
  • Ensure timely supply of inks to gravure printing machines to avoid downtime.
  • Troubleshoot ink-related issues during production (e.g., foamng, smudging, drying).
  • Adjust inks based on substrate absorption and finishing requirements.
  1. Reporting & Documentation
  • Prepare and maintain reports including:
    • Ink Wastage Report (per job / per shift).
    • Ink Consumption Report (job-wise, daily, monthly).
    • Stock Level Report (available, slow-moving, near expiry).
    • Cost Monitoring Report (ink usage vs. job output).
  • Maintain ink performance data for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a database of formulations, shade references, and approval records.
  • Present periodic MIS reports to Production Manager.
  1. Inventory & Vendor Coordination
  • Monitor ink stock levels and raise requisitions for replenishment.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for technical support and shade approval trials.
  • Ensure proper storage of inks, and coatings  to avoid spoilage.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Reporting and Monitoring:
  • Ensure daily production reporting in ERP system accurately and timely. 
  • Track and monitor output of each machine shift-wise, ensuring alignment with planned production and highlight deviations.
  • Prepare wastage reports weekly and monthly, analyze reasons for wastage, and recommend improvements.
  • Share daily and weekly production plans and ensure alignment with production targets and client commitments.

 

  1. Job & Development File (JDF) Management
  • Create and maintain JDFs for all production jobs.
  • Ensure all specifications, BOM, and process details are correctly captured.
  • Ensure proper filing (digital and physical) of all paperwork for easy traceability during audits or client visits.
  • Coordinate with design and production teams for job readiness.
  • Work with QA/Design/Sales teams to ensure that every job follows defined SOPs and has verified documentation.

 

  1. New Developments and Customer Engagement:
  • Coordinate internally for new product trials and developments.
  • Participate in customer visits and audits to represent the offset operations team and clarify technical/operational queries.
  • Ensure development jobs are well documented and feedback is recorded for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure timely execution of development jobs.

 

  1. Raw Material Management and Forecasting:
  • Monitor RM stock availability as per Sales Orders (SO).
  • Maintain minimum stock levels to prevent production disruptions.
  • Coordinate with purchase/store team to ensure timely availability.
  • Follow-up on material availability and raise alerts in advance for shortfalls.

 

  1. Shopfloor Coordination & Operational Support:
  • Ensure availability of all inputs for job execution (CTP plates, raw materials, manpower, approvals).
  • Monitor and control day-to-day shop floor activities to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Ensure adherence to production plans, quality standards, and safety norms.
  •  Drive process improvements for efficiency and cost optimization.
  • Act as a bridge between the production floor and other departments like QA, stores, and maintenance. 
  • Allocate manpower based on production requirements.
  • Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance of shop floor staff.
  • Coordinate with HR for manpower planning and discipline management.
  • Ensure proper training and skill development of operators.

 

  1. Process Adherence and Quality Focus:
  • Ensure strict adherence to SOPs and quality parameters at every stage of printing, Punching, Pasting, Sorting.
  • Participate in process audits, quality reviews, and internal inspections.
  • Monitor rework, wastage, and rejection data and work closely with QA to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Track and report wastage at each production stage.
  • Analyze root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive initiatives to reduce process losses.

 

  1. Procurement & Inventory Follow-ups
  • Raise requirements and follow up for:
  • Foil
  • Lamination Film
  • Dies
  • Blankets, creasing matrix
  • Ensure timely availability of all production consumables.

 

  1. Vendor Coordination (Job Work)
  • Coordinate with external vendors for outsourced job work.
  • Follow up on delivery timelines and quality compliance.
  • Maintain vendor performance records.

 

  1. Support for 5S, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement:
  • Promote 5S practices and workplace discipline on the shopfloor.
  • Suggest and implement ideas for improving process efficiency, reducing waste, or enhancing safety.
  • Participate in departmental reviews and prepare reports/presentations on improvement initiatives.

Job Title: Sales Executive – Offset (Paper Packaging)

About the Role

We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Sales Executive to support our offset (paper packaging) business. The role will focus on developing new clients and strengthening existing relationships for monocartons and other printed packaging solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive business development for offset printing / paper packaging solutions (monocartons, cartons, corrugated boxes etc.) 
  • Identify and acquire new clients across industries such as FMCG, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and consumer goods 
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation to closure 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure repeat business 
  • Understand client requirements and coordinate with internal teams to deliver suitable packaging solutions 
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and pricing 
  • Achieve sales targets and contribute to overall revenue growth

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in the offset printing / paper packaging industry (preferred) 
  • Candidates from printing, packaging, or related industries with relevant exposure may also be considered 
  • Basic understanding of offset printing processes and packaging materials 
  • Experience in B2B / industrial sales 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with clients 
  • Self-driven and proactive, with a strong focus on execution and results
